Change The Tide - A Review

Rita Aalder's Change the tide was first released as a single and later appeared on her second album, Anna. Released in 2014, Change the tide is a song that talks about accepting one's fate in the midst of trials and tribulations. It's not clear if the singer is referring to herself but the song is deep; with a beautiful melody and upbeat drums.

The Latin verses in change the tide tie in beautifully with the overall theme of the song. "Aequam memento rebus in arduis servare mentem" means "Remember to keep a clear head during trials" and "Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam" translates as "It's better to suffer an injustice than to do an injustice"

This is one of Rita's most beloved songs and rightly so, it's an anthem on its own. Listen to change tide here - https://soundcloud.com/ritaaalder/change-the-tide-album

Your song for a celebrity's birthday

This week in ShowBiz Blog, we are featuring a one of a kind experience that has blown our minds with something that we’ve quite frankly, haven’t imagined is possible.

Let’s get to it straight: It is an opportunity where you can vote for your favorite celebrity whose birthday is coming up next month (January 2021) so that they get their very own birthday song. Composing and creating a song is by no means an easy feat, imagine doing a birthday song and that too, for a celebrity! This fantastic voting opportunity is made available for the public by Bring My Song to Life. It works quite simply - a website page called Celebrity Birthday has been created where anyone can vote for their favorite celebrity and the celebrity with the most votes wins and gets a new birthday song composed by the professional team and delivered to the celebrity!

These celebrities don’t need an introduction here as they’re so famous for what they do in the ShowBiz world. The celebs and their birthdays are:

Bradley Cooper - January 5,

Oprah Winfrey - January 29,

Jim Carrey - January 17,

Alicia Keys - January 25,

Justin Timberlake - January 31,

Ellen DeGeneres - January 26.

We never know - but a lucky voter’s name could also be featured on the song so it's definitely worth casting your vote for your favorite celeb!

“Bring My Song to Life” team

Rita Aalder Gives An Update On Journey

Rita Aalder announced back in July that her third album, titled Journey, will be released in 2021 by Arzzarine Records. The singer, who's last record, Anna, was released in 2014, had been keeping a low profile before the announcement. According to Rita in 2014, Anna is a collection of other people's stories but Journey (which is a 15-track record) seems to be about her own story.

Rita, who's notoriously tight-lipped about her private life shared an update on the record, writing on her Instagram - Rita Aalder "This album was written in hermit mode, when it was just me and my worst fears. It's an introspective album. It's about human vulnerability; in a second, things can change and all of a sudden, your world is turned upside down and you're thrust into situations where it's a matter of survival and the hell may last years, even centuries. This album is unintentionally vulnerable, if I could have it any other way, I would but I had to write from my heart, for fear, I may never get a chance in this life to tell these important stories."
