Is Liza Jane about to release her first album?
Posted by Nobby
Recently there has been a lot of rumours
about the singer Liza Jane releasing her first album. Many of it now surfaced
on popular news sites, for example here
in the Baltimore Post Examiner but also other sites. Her second EP, “Alone
in a crowd” is available
here on her official site, but according to news outlets, the new album is
anticipated by January 2020 – with a bit of luck, a bit earlier, by Christmas
already.
I first became aware of this talented, up
and coming singer via a Youtube video that accumulated over 100K views in a
very short time. Looking into it a bit deeper, there is a lot I was able to
discover about Liza Jane, as shared below:
Liza Jane – Where it started:
She was born in 1998 – and since an early
age, of just 2, her parents noticed that whenever there was television
broadcasting to do with singing, Liza Jane started to sing along and mimic
performances: she was really into music. They helped her develop her talent by
arranging for her to attend singing classes since a young age and very shortly
after that, she started to appear at prestigious events in her local area,
eventually taking this abroad as far as Italy. (She is American born, of
Italian origins).
By age 11, she became the youngest ever
soloist to be invited to perform at the historic St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in
Key West – her hometown. She also became a soprano vocalist – the only ever to
receive a “superior-plus” rating at the Florida state vocal competition.
Other known achievements from her timeline:
·
In June 2015 she performed The
National Anthem at the 239th Anniversary of the US Navy for the
Wounded Warriors Veterans. This was linked to charity work she did. On the same
day the City Commissioners named the day in her honor.
·
She collaborated with Paul
Cotton – formerly of the famous rock group Poco.
·
Collaborated with Phil Brown –
formerly of the famous group Little Feat
·
At only 16 she recorded her
first EP “We could start a fire” – with Biff Watson in Nashville
·
Currently (2019) studied music
in Nashville at Belmont University, where she participates in the local music
and cultural scene: singing with the Nashville Opera Guild and having
volunteered for the Nashville Opera Association.
·
Perhaps lesser known to many
people, is that Liza Jane makes significant effort to raise awareness against
issues like depression, anxiety, suicide, and raising money for homeless
veterans. She herself suffers from depression, but takes great strides to proof
that this does not have to be a limiting factor on how much can be achieved.
What is her style of music?
Usually, fans who enjoy the music of
singers like Lana del Rey, Alicia Keys, Adele, Fiona Apple and Lady Gaga – are
also the type of people who love Liza Jane. But make no mistake: This is
actually the part where people might underestimate her when looking at just one
video. She is in fact highly versatile as a singer: beyond just opera singing,
she plays piano and guitar – and appeared alongside musicians in many genres.
Local jazz clubs, choirs, rock, pop, classical / opera, Liza Jane is more than
capable to make stunning performances.
Whereas she is quite in demand among
well-known singers and share the stage with them, it is quite likely that in
consecutive albums she will break out and wow her growing fanbase with her own
style like her second EP “Alone in a Crowd.” As others in the industry have
said: “Liza Jane has a unique, soulful
voice… and I think it’s something you could hear on alternative pop charts.
Liza is on a great track, doing some really cool things.”-Brent long, tour
manager (Brad Paisley)
Judging by the rapid growth of her fanbase
– I’d say Liza Jane is on track to do really well with future albums, which
will help her raise even more awareness about the issues she cares about and
stand for. Watch her video below and see for yourself just how talented she is:
